Join us in building a hyper-local advertising ecosystem that levels the playing field for small businesses.

Role Overview

You’ll spearhead the end-to-end execution of our flyer campaigns—from selling ad spaces to coordinating design and delivery. This is a growth-focused role: start part-time (20 hrs/week) and transition to full-time (40 hrs/week) as we scale from 2 to 5+ monthly flyers. You’ll work directly with the Founder/Director to build processes, nurture client relationships, and ensure flawless campaign delivery.

Job Title: Assistant Director (Advertising Operations)
Company: Mop & Wrench (Unlock South Seattle)
Location: South Seattle, WA (Hybrid: Remote + Local Client Meetings)
Compensation: $40/hour | Part-Time → Full-Time Transition
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales & Client Management

    • Pitch and sell ad spaces ($500–$2,000) to South Seattle SMBs via email, calls, and in-person meetings.

    • Enforce category exclusivity (e.g., "only one plumber per flyer").

    • Onboard clients, manage contracts, and secure monthly subscriptions.

  2. Campaign Operations

    • Coordinate ad designs: Provide free designs for subscribers; manage $100 design fees for one-time clients.

    • Oversee flyer production: Liaise with printers, track deadlines, and ensure quality control.

    • Manage mailing logistics: Verify shipping timelines for 10,000+ households/flyer.

  3. Growth & Optimization

    • Achieve 100% ad occupancy for all flyers (24 spaces/flyer).

    • Identify upsell opportunities (e.g., multi-flyer subscriptions, larger ad spaces).

    • Refine processes as we scale from 2 → 5+ monthly flyers.

  4. Team Collaboration

    • Report to the Founder/Director on KPIs (sales, occupancy, client retention).

    • Train and collaborate with future hires (e.g., Mailing Operators).

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years in sales, account management, or operations (advertising/print media experience a plus).

  • Proven ability to manage 50+ clients simultaneously with meticulous organization.

  • Strong negotiation/persuasion skills: Ability to sell value over cold calls/emails.

  • Tech-savvy: Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot), Canva, and Google Workspace.

Preferred:

  • Experience in print production, direct mail campaigns, or experience in marketing.

  • Basic design sense (for guiding ad creations).

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: Thrives in fast-paced, scaling environments.

Growth & Benefits

  • Path to Full-Time: Transition to 40 hrs/week upon reaching 2+ flyers/month (typically Month 2–3).

  • Impact: Be the face of a mission-driven business transforming local advertising.

  • Compensation: $40/hour + performance bonuses for exceeding occupancy targets.

  • Future Leadership: Opportunity to mentor teams as we expand to new regions (e.g., "Unlock Tacoma").

  • Benefits (Upon Full-Time): Health insurance stipend, PTO, flexible schedule.
